Mohd Harris Abdullah

Mohd Harris Abdullah was born in Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur on 16 December 1957 and received both his primary and secondary education in Mahmud Primary School, Dato Shahbandar Hussain Lower Secondary School and Mahmud Secondary School, all in Raub, Pahang Darul Makmur, Completed 11 years of primary and secondary education in 9 years.

Was employed as a process server in the firm of Gill & Tang, Kuala Lumpur from 1979 till 1984, a clerk in Lawrence Dhillon & Associates from 1984 till 1986 and till 1988 was a chief clerk in the employ of Othman Hashim Chen & Co.

Became an auctioneer in 1988 under the name and style of Harris & Co with license to auction in the states of Pahang Darul Makmur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Selangor Darul Ehsan and Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus.


Harris is recognised as being amongst the top civil lawyers in the country and has been appointed on many occasions to lead civil litigation for other legal firms.


Commenced part time degree course in law with Goons Institution Kuala Lumpur in year 1995 and obtained a second class lower LLB (Hons) Degree from Anglia Polytechnic University, Chelmsford, Essex in 1997 as an internal student.


Completed the dreaded CLP examinations in 1998 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1999 after completing 9 months of pupillage under Datin Jaya of Balendran Chong & Bodi, Kuala Lumpur.


Commenced practice under the name and style of Mohd Harris Mohan & Partners in September 1999 with one Suppiah Muthusamy, the former State Director of the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs. Became sole proprietor of Mohd Harris Abdullah in 2002 after a partnership split with Suppiah. Merged with Zakiah in 2005 under the partnership of Harris & Zakiah. Resigned from Harris & Zakiah in 2006 and commenced the present practise of The Law Office of Mohd Harris since January 2007.


Least to say, Harris, as a person who grew up in legal firms from the lowest of all appointments, not only has the experience in advocacy as an advocate and solicitor, but also in the preparation of documents and other clerical need of a legal firm.


Championing the rights of Felda Settlers, has earned Harris the street name - Lawyer Felda, a name coined by Felder Settlers themselves for services often rendered to them.
